Them Ol' Gospel BluesYou know, as secular and agnostic I can be, there is one thing I can credit Christianity for. The music. I'm not talking about hymns, though those are lovely. I'm talking about lively, vibrant, charged and energetic gospel souls, blues and funk. If you find regular church mass boring as hell, and dreary and tedious as the preacher monotonously drones on and on about scripture, try for a more soulful congregation. Those guys know how to party, and the way they preach scripture is all kinds of fun. I once visited Florida with the family, and we stopped at this church-slash-bed-and-breakfast joint for brunch. Congregation and gospel included. The next two hours, everyone was jumping, dancing and singing at the top of their lungs. It was quite the atmosphere, one I certainly enjoyed. You know that scene in The Blues Brothers where the brothers attend the church of Rev James Brown?It was exactly like that.I think they even sang "Old Landmark."On top of that, it wasn'
Spring.Hope you didn't think I forgot all about this journal stuff here. Just been abit busy with work and other awsome things. The school application thing is done, so all I have to do is just wait for the results; hoping I'll stay right where I am.Work is as great as ever, so I'm sure special education is the way to go. I love the kids, even when they are as crabby, sad or angry, but it's the smiles they give when they understand you're only there to help that means the most.Remember i mentioned a certain day on the last post?
